Frequently Asked Questions

Check here to see if these sufficiently answer your burning questions!

What are your prices?

Each job gets a custom price, because each guitar has custom issues. For a guideline, see my PRICING page. Presently, prices are based on a shop rate of $115/hour. For a ballpark estimate, feel free to include images in an inquiry email.

I would be happy to perform a brief assessment at drop-off, so you can have an idea of the value of the repairs needed. There is no commitment to leave it with me. The instrument will undergo another assessment if you bring it back at a later date.

See my services page for some more info and generalized pricing.

What's your turnaround time?

This is dependent on what else is being serviced in my shop at the time of your inquiry, but typically I try to do setups within a week or two, and big jobs take longer. I refrain from giving firm timelines for big jobs - there are just too many factors to accurately predict an end date.

What are your appointment hours?

GGR works on an Appointment Only basis. My appointment schedule can be found here.

How do I book an appointment?

Use the 'Book Appointment' button found all over this website, to book using my scheduling app. Or click >>here<<

Do you do finish work or refinishing?

No. Finish work is a super-custom skill that I do not possess. I aim to make my repairs solid, but I never promise they'll be invisible.

Do you repair amps and pedals?

No. We do not dabble in the dark arts. But there are some talented techs in Kitchener, so look them up!

Can you do it while I wait?

I have another project on the bench at the moment, and it's very unlikely I will be able to squeeze your guitar into the flow in the same day. Better to plan ahead.

My guitar's not worth fixing. What should I do with it?

Before you throw it in the garbage, consider donating your guitar to me, even if it needs repairs. If I can fix up your well loved guitar, I'll donate it to a local Guelph organization.
